Weathervane Promenade

Formation: Couples facing couples around the hall like spokes of a wheel.
Music: “Patriotic Medley”, Red Boot 2155, or “76 Trombones”, TNT 250

Description:
    1-8   Each four dancers join hands and Circle to the Left 8 beats.
  9-16   Each four dancers Circle to the Right 8 beats.
17-24   The two dancers on the outside edge of the big circle Promenade toward the center
of the hall passing between the inside pair.
25-32   The same dancers U-Turn Back and Promenade back out to their original facing
position.

33-40   The two dancers on the inside edge of the big circle Promenade out toward the wall
passing between the outside pair.
41-48   The same dancers U-Turn Back and Promenade back in to their original facing
position.
49-56   Each couple links inside arms and then the men hook left elbows. The two-faced
lines will then rotate around the hooked left elbows.
57-64   The two-faced line will continue to turn until the men can release left elbows and
each couple can move on to the next couple and face them ready to begin again.

Usage: This is a simple dance, but the timing needs to be emphasized to encourage the
full use of eight beats during the Promenades.
