Don’s Mescolanza

Formation: Lines of 4 facing lines of 4, in columns. The lines nearest the prompter have their backs to the prompter. There may be an extra line at the bottom facing up. Male and female partners would normally dance with the lady on the gent’s right.
Music: Something with strong 8-count phrasing and a 64-count verse.

Description:
    1-8   The right-hand couples in each line of four diagonally Right and Left Thru.
  9-16   Same couples Right and Left Thru back to their original position.
17-24   The left-hand couples in each line of four diagonally Two Ladies Chain.
25-32   The same two Ladies Chain back.

33-40   Each couple Star Right with the facing couple in the opposite line.
41-48   Same four Star Left back to original lines.
49-56   Lines of four go Forward and Back.
57-64   Lines of four Pass Thru two lines and stop facing the third line. Couples who are facing out after the first Pass Thru do a Partner Trade to face back in. This may be called as Pass Thru, Trade By.

Usage: Note that the action for each couple changes when they reach the top or the foot of the hall. All dancers need to by comfortable dancing both Ladies Chain and Right and Left Thru.
